So with the show being 50 years old there had to be something keeping it going. It’s all about the regeneration… We’re going to be introduced to the 12th (technically 13th) regeneration of The Doctor. But it had to start somewhere right? Duh, of course it did, and the start was with this man William Hartnell.
He was the original Doctor. He portrayed a alien that took a old blue box out on a joyride. He met some friends and made some enemies along the way. He was the one who first encountered the Dalleks and took them on and gave us a reason to keep coming back each week and watching. He is the first face of our favorite Time Lord that the world was greeted with.
Actually he was really reluctant to take the role, but after beginning up and seeing how the role he has taken on was so influential and how it brought something back to British Television he gave his all to the role. The show had a rocky start but under his role, William layed the foundation for many sci-fi shows to come in the future and the precedent of what it takes to be a Time Lord for all the others to follow in his footsteps
He played as The Doctor from the years of 1963-1966 until his health began to fail him and was no longer able to keep up the role. He later passed in 1975, but honestly the best portrayl of his story and the origin of Doctor Who I will recommend for you to watch BBC’s An Adventure In Space And Time. It’s a great bio pic of him and the show. We won’t cover all of the regenerations but we will go into some major ones to give the newcomers or the ones who don’t like Who a good and fresh view.

Truly the Doctor’s Doctor. I is amazing when you see how he handled the at the time entirely never seen before ideas and brings some great class to the role. I think Peter is going to take a similar feel to his appearances.
Yeah, he’s going to bring back that regal feel back to The Doctor…
