The Playlist: #MusicMonday Spotlight: A Gentleman On The Track

This Playlist will be a spotlight on one of our good friends on the Block, DayDay The Gentleman. He s a great beat maker and can see him as an amazing producer. If you need a beat to game to or just sit back, relax and vibe out to, this is the man you need to see. He is a true Otaku and a nerd. More than just a pretty face he is also deep into the FGC (fighting game community for those who were like me and didn’t know what it was, lol).

Born and raised in Alabama you guessed it he’s a Tide fan but that passion flows through into his beats. He has done some sick stuff, from 8-Bit to full on studio quality tracks. He usually samples from geek, otaku, and gaming culture for his inspiration. From tracks like The Eggman Cometh to I Fell In Love In Anistar City, you’ll get the references and the beats are all perfect for gaming, vibing or even spitting 16 on it. These are all around quality works, and you can tell he puts himself into each track. All of the beats have that Dirty South swag that only comes from producers from here. It’s just the music we grew up on. The deep bass and the snare hits.

Earlier I said, as well as being a gentleman on the track he is also a beast on the sticks. he is a big FGC advocate and supporter. I have seen a few of his videos he puts out and can tell you that this man ain’t nothing to play with. He plays mostly Street Fighter and his character is Sagat, but he’s no one trick pony. He is highly skilled and has a way to adapt to any fighting situation. I got to know him through various groups and we’ve gotten a chance to become great friends.
