What is good guys. So keeping with Ashe’s Halloween theme from the Mangafesto, I wanted to bring you guys a little review myself. Now if you didn’t know, today is Halloween Comicfest. It’s a day where shops and distributors get together and the public some free comics. It’s like another Free Comic Book Day, technically it is. But it’s a great way to get out to your local comic shops, show support and pick up some great titles. If you still have time, go out there and check your local shops, after this review of course.
But, I went out to my favorite local shop, Gotham City Limits, and picked me out a copy of Batman: Legends Of The Dark Knight (Halloween Special Edition). This is actually a re-release of the original story from 1989. So apparently that’s a theme with a lot of comics offered today.
This one is an old gritty story of Halloween in Gotham, and of course the Scarecrow is out and about spreading fear wherever he goes. He’s kinda like a bad Santa Claus in that sense, but Batman is determined to stop him and put him back in his padded cell. The story is an opener of a bigger graphic novel Batman Haunted Knight. But it depicts an exhausted Caped Crusader chasing down leads on the whereabouts of The Scarecrow.
After a lead dries up and he has to go back to his billionaire lifestyle where he is hosting a party for some investors. He runs into a peculiar woman who he’s never met or has no info about. They actually hit it off until he’s called back to work.
This issue is a little complex and just gives you the tip of the iceberg and the story only gets deeper from here. Does fear take over Gotham and our Dark Knight? Will we learn the secrets of this Mystery woman? Will you go out and pick up this comic and the graphic novel it goes with? All questions will be answered, same Bobbo channel, saaaaaame Bobbo time.
Also, they had some other great titles that were up for grabs, so if you miss it, go by your local comic shops to see if they have any extras that they’ll let you get. Here’s all of them…
