Cosplayers Of Color

This month has been always a time to reflect and look back on the great achievements of pioneers of African-American History. We have all heard the stories and seen the documentaries. We know that it is important to know from where we came from, but where are we heading next. We know here on The Block we are big fans within the Cosplay Community and love to celebrate with them. This year they are doing the hashtag #28DaysofBlackCosplay and we’d like to show love with doing our featured spot, Cosplayers of Color!

We live in a world where advancements are seen everyday. But within the Geek and Nerd culture African-Americans have paved a path out for ourselves to where we have stood out among our peers. With our culture being shaped by the things we like and the environment we live in, it’s always been hard to be a African-American nerd or geek and it’s even harder to be a cosplayer of color. So we have decided to give these pioneers of Geek culture.

We have an amazing lineup of cosplayers to feature for you. They all are so wonderful and talented fabricators of armor and costumes. We know and love all of the people on this list, we got to sit down and talk with them individually so over the rest of this month you will get a spotlight and an interview of each cosplayer or couple we have to introduce you to. If you already know the cosplayer we feature support them and share this so the rest of the world will as well. So let’s go ahead and kick off this celebration!
