Hey guys! This weekend your Friendly Neighborhood Nerd, The Bobbo, went on a day out and I am starting off my Con hopping. So I had the pleasure of going to Anime Day Jacksonville this weekend.
Anime Day is a one day, that’s right I said ONE DAY, anime convention and Marketplace. So you have to be a part of it to know the experience. It is my second time going to this convention and I love every second of it. We have a very strong cosplay community in Jacksonville, Florida and they show up in full force. Cosplayers from all around the city show off their work and have fun interacting with each other. This is where you can see Naruto having a freeze tag battle with Master Chief.
You also have amazing deals on all of the merchandise. Since it is a one day con, you get all of the deals the vendors wait to give you on Sunday of a normal two or three-day con all at once. You can pick your poison: we have manga, buttons, figurines, games, weapons and so much more for you to select from. Each vendor works with you and makes sure you get the biggest bang for your buck! Besides the vendors and the cosplaying, they have a Video Room where you can sit and watch different anime, depending on what was scheduled. They even hold great panels and tutorial panel discussion over the course of the day. To top it off, to get in was only $5.00! Here’s some of the friends we met.
And I was able to get focus and do at least one interview, so let’s watch it.
It was an amazing day to be had, so keep your eye out for me. I’ll get on the road and visit a lot more cons, who knows The Block may show up at a Con in your town! Have Bobbo, will travel.
