You know what they say, in times of trouble and turmoil the League is formed to fight against the shadows. Well, at least that’s what they said in the movie. If we are hearing the whispers correctly, they are starting to say it again.
This week we heard word that they are rebooting the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen franchise. This is really big news for fans of the movie who have patiently awaited a sequel after the grave of Alan Quatermaine began to rumble. The League has been a great on-going comic book series and was an equally great movie adaptation in 2003.
There are many incarnations of The League, it’s kinda like the Power Rangers (Or Super Sentai for those who know), but it’s kinda like what the quote from the movie said, whenever the world needs The League a new team will rise to answer the call. But the most noted team written by Alan Moore will be made up of Alan Quatermaine, Captain Nemo, Dr. Jekyl/ Mr. Hyde, Mina Harker, and The Invisible Man. The movie added a twist when they brought Dorian Gray and Tom Sawyer to the crew. All of the characters come from tales of lore and literature. Who else best to take on the things that go bump in the night? They are not called Extraordinary for no reason either.
Not much is known about the reboot as of now. We do know it is still being done by 20th Century Fox and they have announced the reboot will be overseen by Ira Napoliello and Matt Reilly, and produced by John Davis of Davis Entertainment. So when we get more information we will update you guys.
