Going Into 2024

This year is shaping to be a year of big changes, not only for myself personally. But for this blog and brand overall. It’s weird, I’m sitting here watching the first episode of Xena Warrior Princess thinking about how this post really brings everything full circle. In this premiere episode, Xena finds herself going back home to find a new beginning.

It always happens to kick off with someone going back to where it all started to discover fresh beginnings. That is where I am right now. This all started here in 2014 when I decided to make my impact, or what thereof on the inernet. Writing this blog and growing my audience. I think I need to reconceptualize what I think it means to be a writer. What I think a blog post should consist of. I have given up trying to chase all the headlines and post about the trendiest thing online at the time. I find that if I just write more about what I like and the things that bring me joy or spark my curiosity for creativity.

I will try to keep up consistent posting, most will be short blurbs or random thoughts that have come into my head and need an outlet. I want to be passionate again about connecting with my readers by writing and podcasting about things that got you following me in the first place. This will become a space again where I bring the community I’ve been able to gather on social media into a space where I can share a lot more with you. No pay wall, and no obligation to consume the content. It will be here whether you read it or not. 

I have never seen myself as an influencer, but I have always seen myself as an ambassador of community. I took all of 2023 to reach back out into my local community and share myself with more with the people that I see either feeding into or blossoming from the same soil from which I am rotted. I want to extend that onto the internet now. I want to make this a home where I can give the energy to all of you and all of my internet connections that I give to my local community. I see so much more I can be writing and I embrace that this is the year to get this done.

I have to set a lot of plans and goals for my 2024 this week and one of them will be to do way more shorter posts like this, at least three times a month, and one big post at least once a month. I am also going to be pushing out issues of my Zine Voices in BOLD quarterly (fingers crossed) to get a consistent basis. I want to push to get more published content out into the world. More of my poetry, more of my words, more of my voice. So let’s get into the journey for this year. Thanks for joining up.
