Marvel has finally given us the official Cast of their Fantastic 4 movie that is slated for July of 2025. The Marvel Studios account and the new Fantastic Four Instagram page posted on February 14th a Valentine’s Day picture of Marvel’s first family all enjoying the holiday and it was their big reveal of the actors drawn as their role in full attire.

Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn are sitting alongside each other smiling and dancing with The Thing reading a magazine in a recliner. But on the wall is a picture of Ebon Moss-Bachrach in a full space suit for his astronaut portrait. I love this reveal and such a subtle way to give us the overall vibe of this movie. This seems like it will be set in the past, and we will more than likely get another origin story of the team or maybe they will explain where they have been this whole time during the Infinity Saga.

This has been quite the buzz for a minute because there have been rampant rumors and fan casting galore. After the introduction of Reed Richards in Multiverse of Madness, everyone wanted to see John Krasinski back in the role. Seeing the choices made, really brings a fresh new energy to the MCU.

I want to talk about why Ebon, is probably my favorite casting choice and how I think he will take the spotlight in this movie. I don’t want you to think that I am not excited about the rest of the cast in this either. Far from it, I like Vanessa Kirby and have seen her in this type of action role with Hobbs and Shaw that would fit perfectly as Sue Storm. Joseph Quinn is a former Game of Thrones alum who has the exact personality of Johnny. Where do we even start with Pedro Pascal, I definitely love the current run he has been on and can’t wait to see him as Mr. Fantastic. But, I think Moss-Bachrach will outshine them all.

If you are unfamiliar with the name, that is fair. He is not a well-known actor but he has been in so many movies and projects. He is currently in the limelight for playing Richard “Richie” Jerimovich in the award-winning comedy-drama series The Bear. He is more affectionately referred to as “Cousin”. But he also is not a newcomer to the Marvel Universe, he was in Netflix’s The Punisher as Micro, the man in the chair, or rather in the basement.

I feel like the role of Ben Grimm fits him so well because he has the chops to pull out that emotional side of The Thing and as a character actor, he has the gift to make you just feel for him and whatever he is going through. In The Bear, Richie comes off in the beginning as this obnoxious, annoying, and the kind of frustrating guy who you just want to constantly tell him to shut up. But the deeper that you go into the story, he is such a compassionate, complex, and endearing person that you just want to root for. You need that type of energy in this project.

Ben Grimm goes through the most out of all the Fantastic 4 team. He is physically changed, he comes to the grips that he can never go back to his normal life. Depending on how we tell his story, I can already see the scenes of Reed Richards taking on this heavy burden because he put his best friend into this and now he has been turned into this unrecognizable form.

Just like Richie, Ben Grimm looks very rough and unapproachable on the exterior but he possesses this heart of gold and the demeanor that he has with people is so gentle and soft. He has the fire to defend the people he loves and the sense of loyalty to stick beside his chosen family no matter what happens. The way that I’m expecting this movie to feed into the unspoken story of the MCU that we’ve been missing in the first few phases can take us into some interesting territory yet to be tapped.

I am lowkey super excited to see this movie now and I am counting down the days until the first trailer. I know that we are in a weird spot when it comes to the MCU, but I think that even with all the naysayers and negative opinions on the latest few projects to come out. I think this is a pivotal piece of the narrative that will shape the next few phases of the cinematic universe.

There are a lot of questions ahead and I believe if we just let the story play out. I know it will all make sense in the grand scheme of it all. The Fantastic Four movie is setting itself up to be just the thing to get Marvel Studios back into that rhythm we know it for oh so well. We are nowhere near close to the endgame, so let’s see what this thing has to offer.
