Anderson .Paak is a R&B artist from California and is featured on 2016 XXL Freshman Class. His current album, Malibu, has received great praise, but I won’t talk about that. Instead, we’ll look at his earlier work.

NxWorries (2015) – is an EP with Stones Throw records producer, Knxwledge.  There’re 5 tracks, but *in my opinion* the two best ones are Linked up, which has a house soul vibe and great causal dance vibe to it. The other song is Suede, which samples from the 70’s, talking about being a pimp and giving out drugs. It reminded of the Superfly movie.

Venice (2014)- From what I found is his first album, it seems he likes the beaches in Cali. I listened to this a few time and even before Dr.Dre you could tell he was on to something, just the right people weren’t listening. Off the ground, which is the last track on the album and normally the weakest, ends off really good. It has a two step vibe with a mid 90’s R&B vibe. Next one is milk and honey – a song about him liking a woman but she wants plastic surgery; a slow pace but the music is base heavy and has a guilty pleasure vibe.
